Helping New Mothers Find Their Voice Through Community | Stacy Seigel | TEDxLeonardtown
As a local doula and yoga instructor, Stacy recognized a need for new to have a community that supports and accepts them through the journey of motherhood. The combination of being a doula and yogi provides a holistic birthing experience for those she guides through motherhood and connects them to each other in what she refers to as “Stacy’s Tribe” While raising her two sons as a single mom, Stacy realized there was very little support for women through birth and motherhood. She saw a shift in parenting, away from the “it takes a village” mentality, and wanted to change that. This is when her passion for working in the birth community truly emerged.
Stacy has guided more than 200 families through the birth of their children. By helping mothers find their voice and speak their truth and encouraging father’s to be present in the birth process, her love of all things birth has grown. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
